By Pradhyuman,

Meta has released an open-weight AI model named Muse Spark Open. Meta states that the model uses 816 billion parameters and includes a 1 million token context window.

Muse Spark Open is built for coding tasks and agentic workflows. Meta paired the model with Muse Code to fix bugs and build features for a Mastodon client. Meta also used the model to review and crop footage in DaVinci Resolve.

The model runs locally on Apple silicon. According to Engadget, running the model locally requires at least 1 terabyte of RAM, and the system runs best on a Mac Studio with an M5 Ultra chip.

Meta makes the model available through multiple API platforms.
