Amazon releases its own Jev clone as decision models flood the web
By Pradhyuman,
Amazon Web Services released Strands Decider 2B, an open-source decision model from its Strands Labs group. The model uses the Qwen3.5-2B architecture and runs locally on devices. AWS distinguished engineer Marc Brooker built the prototype after testing TypeSafe's Jev model. Brooker told TechCrunch that the tool provides AWS customers with workflow steps that have lower latency and lower costs.
Model development
TypeSafe chief executive officer Diogo Almeida told TechCrunch that competing developers underestimate the difficulty of making decision models smart. Almeida said recent model releases from other teams prioritize architecture over practical utility.
